Meridian House

Exterior · Mumbai, MH · 2024 · 18,200 m2

A three-storey individual home where exposed red brick and grey concrete are layered into bold cantilevered volumes, fronted by an external stair and a timber lattice screen.

The house needed a strong, contemporary street presence on a compact plot while shading its balconies and giving each floor a clear, usable terrace.

Exposed brick piers and a tall brick service tower anchor the composition, while plastered grey volumes cantilever over the entry. A diagonal timber jaali screens the first-floor balcony, and an expressed external staircase keeps circulation open and the plan flexible.

A confident brick-and-concrete residence whose material honesty, deep shadow lines and sheltered balconies make it stand out without ornament.
